SHADOWS

Voices in my head speak of
harmony, peace, and love
yet all I feel is loneliness and pain
...because Shadows are cold.

Free from parents, free from church
free from people's dirty looks
But freedom, SHE couldn't give
...because Shadows aren't free

I submitted to HER, you know I did
I gave and gave and gave
Why is my soul empty as in bed I lay?
...because Shadows are never full.

I doubted all the truth I knew
and did what ere' I dared
I harmed no one... but me within
...because in Shadows are the lies.

Shadows make me look for light
God's Holy Begotten Son
promised to me from the beginning of time
because God is love...

Real truth, not shadowy beliefs
will guide me til to heaven I fly
Peace is mine, fear is no more
...because Light makes Shadows die
