Law-Enforcement Officials Note Marked Nationwide Increase in Teen
Prostitution; Trends Show Kids Getting Younger, More from
Middle-Class Homes
Over the last year, local and federal law-enforcement officials
say they have noted a marked increase in teen prostitution in
cities across the country, reports Assistant Editor Suzanne
Smalley in the August 18 issue of Newsweek (on newsstands Monday,
August 11).
Law-enforcement agencies and advocacy groups that work with teen
prostitutes say they are increasingly alarmed by the trend lines:
the kids are getting younger; according to the FBI, the average
age of a new recruit is just 13; some are as young as 9.
And, while the vast majority of teen prostitutes today are
runaways, illegal immigrants and children of poor urban areas,
experts say a growing number now come from middle-class homes.
"Compared to three years ago, we've seen a 70 percent increase in
kids are from middle- to upper-middle-class backgrounds,
many of whom have not suffered mental, sexual or physical abuse,"
says Frank Barnaba of the Paul & Lisa Program, which works with
the Justice Department and the FBI in tracking exploited kids.
"Potentially good sex is a small price to pay for the freedom to
spend money on what I want," says 17-year-old Stacey...

Got Morals? Think again?
How did we get here? How did we get to the place where
teenagers sell their bodies as casually as they would take a summer
job? You don't know? Really?! That's hard to
believe.
Listen to popular music! Girls are nothing but objects for
a guy's pleasure. Television has been promoting easy sex for
years with shows like "Boston Public" and "Dawson's Creek". Anyone
for a movie? Let's just talk about the American Pie movies -
one crude sexual situation and reference after another.
So... are music, television, and movies the problem? No.
But they are a symptom of the problem. The problem, of course, is
sin.
Romans 3:23, "For all
have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"
What is sin?
If that word "SIN" is unfamiliar to you, don't feel too badly.
Today, sin is an old fashioned concept. Our society has made
"SIN" unacceptable... The TERM, not the actual DEED. SIN is
anything that goes against the instructions God gave us in the
Bible. SEE? Isn't that harsh? That means you have
to actually KNOW what it says. YIKES! Then you have to
LIVE by it!!!! How HARSH is that? Rules!!!???
"And that from a child thou hast known
the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto
salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is
given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for
reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That
the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good
works."
2 Timothy 3:15-17
Instead, WE have a convenient, yet ever changing list of things
that are deemed "socially unacceptable". Currently, that list
contains things like: cigarettes, SUV's, wearing fur or leather,
eating meat.
Why? I don't know. Where
did this list come from? I don't know that either.
What's funny is the list isn't really
consistent. Get this - CIGARETTES are "EVIL", but DRUGS are
"COOL". Stupid, I know.... This is called "moral
relativism".

Get the picture? Did you notice that items on the COOL list
are just stupid and potentially damaging compared with what's on the NOT COOL
list? God's list is clear, and for a reason. He loves you
enough to tell you the truth about things that aren't good for you
(emotionally, spiritually, and yea... physically).
Premarital sex or just playing around has consequences.
Sex is made for one guy and one girl who are committed to each
other. SO committed and crazy in love - that they make a
public statement that "I want to live the rest of my life with this
person only - and my heart and body are reserved for them only!"
That public statement is Marriage, which God created in the very
first Book of the Bible!
Being Entertained to Death
You DO understand that it's just about money. The people
who make movies and music KNOW they are "preaching" bad morals and
that the end result is death. I've heard and read the
interviews - they wouldn't DARE let their OWN kids see their stuff...
WHY? Because they CARE about their own kids... Apparently,
they DON'T give a RIP about you.
Stupidity kills, so use your head! The world doesn't CARE if you get a sexual disease, get pregnant,
or get your heart broken in two - and try to kill yourself.
I know you want to
be "entertained" but if something is WRONG and STUPID why
do you keep
pouring it into your head?. Hey, listen to a stupid idea
enough times and it will start to sound smart. This is called
BRAINWASHING! What's
SAD is when we do it to
ourselves in the name of "being entertained"... HELLO!?!

THAT'S an excuse!
Problem... Solution
The problem is SIN, the solution is RIGHTEOUSNESS (or being
good). Not MY righteousness, though. You are I are
sinners - sinners are incapable of doing anything but sin. We
have to confess our sin to God and ask Him to wash us with the blood
of Jesus Christ. This is
called being saved. (SALVATION
PLAN)
1 John 1:7, "But if we walk in the
light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another,
and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."
If you call yourself a Christian, be SURE it's not in name only.
You HAVE to be born again!
It's not just enough to be "good" or go to church. You must
GIVE your heart to Jesus Christ. You already did? Good,
now, now LIVE like it!!! I
know SO many believers who claim the name "Christian" yet do little
or NOTHING to mold their life around the clear teachings of Jesus
Christ. Here's a push in the right direction - AVOID SIN.
1 Thessalonians 5:21-23, "Prove all
things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance
of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I
pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless
unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."
Philippians 2:15, "That ye may be
blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke,
in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among
whom ye shine as lights in the world;"
If you have already done things to hurt yourself in the area of
immorality - be of good cheer! Christ forgives and wipes the
slate clean as far as He is concerned. Talk to Him, give Him
your heart and ask for forgiveness and healing. He WILL
forgive.
1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins,
he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us
from all unrighteousness."
