Collecting

Collecting is a great hobby because it can be different for everybody -- just be sure you have the room for everything! Also be sure that you have your parents permission and that whatever you collect does not displease God.  Even Disney items can be a problem since some of their shows are not good for boys and girls to watch (no matter what your friends say...)

In general, avoid items with evil looking images like skulls, pentagrams, or any witchcraft or "New Age" symbol. Unfortunately, even rainbows and unicorns have some meaning in the occult world. Just know what the image means to YOU, and make sure that is in agreement with the Bible.  And when in doubt, ask your parent or a Bible teacher.

Why collect things? Collecting is lots of fun, and you can learn a lot, too. People I know that collect things have a fascinating story to tell about each one of them.  Collections that are well taken care of can be worth a lot of money when you grow up!  There are lots of different reasons to collect, but most people do it simply because they like a certain item.

Here are some items that people collect:

COINS
Look for old, unusual coins or ones of certain dates
(how about the years your friends and family were born)

TINS
Pick a holiday or a product like M&Ms or with pictures you like.
